About Us

We first started showing Cavaliers as a hobby in 1996.  Prior to that we had owned a couple of Cavaliers as pets and bred a litter  or two but had never even considered the prospect of showing this beautiful breed.
The idea of junior handling at open shows was suggested to Leila whilst purchasing a ruby bitch of Gabledene lines, we duly entered every class we could at a few shows and proudly paraded little Bronte around usually resulting in a placing at the end of the line! As Leila was only a young teenager this didn’t ever upset her and she carried on regardless until Christine decided we should find a breeder who might sell us a show quality puppy.

After leafing through a couple of Yearbooks and contacting breeders in the area we were eventually offered a 4 month old bitch by Virginia Barwell of the Charlottetown Cavaliers.  We returned home with Tia (Charlottetown Pensylvania) a younger full sister to CH. Charlottetown Trueman  who became the foundation to the Khatibi lines.  We enjoyed some success with Tia who gained her stud book number by the age of 2,  she was a superb showgirl which also helped Leila develop her junior handling skills but most of all she was a wonderful mother who’s first litter produced the first Cavaliers to hold the Khatibi affix.  From this litter we kept 2 tricolours, Khatibi Boadicea and Khatibi Claudius, both of whom gained their Stud book numbers and numerous other awards at open and championship shows.

Boadicea proved to be another wonderful mother and from 2 litters produced tricolours Khatibi Duncan Disorderly, Khatibi Gladys All Over at Rahmzi, Khatibi Tiger Tim at Alrewic SHCM, and AKC Ch. Khatibi Eamon High JW ShCM  all of whom gained their Stud Book Numbers.
During this time Leila also enjoyed competing in Junior Handling and YKC classes in which she was regularly placed, qualifying for the Junior Handling Semi Finals at Richmond, YKC handling and YKC Stakes finals at Crufts on numerous occasions.

Murray (AKC Ch.Khatibi Eamon High JW ShCM) has been a success in the ring as well as producing numerous Crufts qualifiers both particolour and wholecolour including Edie (Khatibi Edie Does It) who was the first Khatibi to gain a Reserve Challenge Certificate.

Most recently we have had a wonderful time campaigning Chesney (AKC & Can Ch. Khatibi Juan For the Road JW ShCM).  He has exceeded all our expectations gaining his Junior Warrant in just 6 months, Reserve Best in Match at the Pup of the Year Challenge, numerous wins at open and championship shows and most recently the CC, BOB and Group 3 at Leeds and then his American and Canadian titles in just 6 months in America.

Jules (Clockpelters Crown Jules For Khatibi JW), was the first Ruby dog we campaigned and also had a hugely successful puppy career becoming the first Ruby in 4 years to gain a Junior Warrant as well as being the only wholecolour to gain a 1st place at Crufts 2010.

Our most successful dog to date is Ch. Kaidee Kiss Me Kate Khatibi JW ShCM who is the first UK Champion for our kennel. She won her crown in style taking Toy Group 1 at SKC, the first cavalier to win a group in over 4 years! She had a tremendous 2014 winning 7 CC's in total finishing the year as top Cavalier Bitch in all points systems and Top Cavalier Overall in the CKCS Club competition.

To date we have bred/owned numerous Cavaliers that have gained their stud book numbers, 1 UK Champion, 2 AKC & Can Champions, 5 Junior Warrant winners ,2 CC winners,  5 RCC winners as well as having many more successes at all levels over the years.

We now own 10 Cavaliers which include both sexes and all 4 colours as well as a Blenheim King Charles Spaniel ‘Percy’ (Lillijay Percy Cute Khatibi) who loves to terrorise the Cavaliers and has himself gained 2RCC's.

As well as our own Cavaliers we are also extremely proud of the success that others have had with their own Khatibi children, such as Crufts qualifications, Stud Book Numbers, Group wins and numerous BOB and BP awards at open shows.

The last 18 years have been such an enjoyable experience, both in and out of the ring.  We have met so many new and interesting people and had the companionship of  this wonderful and devoted toy breed.  We would love to thank everyone who has appreciated our dog’s qualities over the years cant wait to see what the next decade has in store for the Khatibi’s!!
